Does the end date count in the days between?
No. Days between is the count of full days from the start date up to (but not including) the end date. January 1 to January 3 is 2 days, matching how contract durations and rental nights are counted.
How does this differ from a date difference calculator?
Days between focuses on the total day count and a workdays-versus-weekends split. A date difference calculator additionally breaks the gap into years, months, and days for human-readable spans.
Are US federal holidays subtracted from workdays?

Does the order of the two dates matter?
