How are cross rates between two non-USD currencies calculated?
Each currency is stored as a USD rate. To convert from EUR to GBP, the tool divides the target rate by the source rate: amount times (RATES[to] / RATES[from]). USD acts as the pivot.
Where can I get real-time exchange rates?
For live rates check your bank's app, XE.com, Wise, OANDA, or the European Central Bank reference rates. Card transactions usually use Visa or Mastercard daily rates plus a markup.
Do banks and credit cards charge fees on top of the exchange rate?
