Frequently Asked Questions about the Crypto Profit Calculator

How does this crypto profit calculator work?
It takes your entry price, exit price, and position size, then computes the coins you control and your gross profit or loss. For a long, gross P/L is quantity times (exit price minus entry price). For a short, it is quantity times (entry price minus exit price). It then subtracts exchange fees to give your net result and your ROI on the capital you put in.
How is leverage handled?
Leverage multiplies your position value. With $1,000 of capital at 5x leverage, you control a $5,000 position, so a 10 percent price move produces roughly a 50 percent gain or loss on your capital before fees. Use a leverage of 1 for a normal spot trade. Leverage scales both your profit and your loss by the same factor.
How are exchange fees calculated?
The fee is charged on the full position value at both entry and exit, which is how most exchanges price taker fees. If you enter a per-side fee of 0.1 percent, you pay 0.1 percent of the position value when you open and 0.1 percent of the exit value when you close. Both fees are subtracted from your gross profit to give the net figure.
What is the break-even price?
Break-even is the exit price at which your net result is exactly zero after fees. For a long it equals the entry price times (1 plus the fee rate) divided by (1 minus the fee rate), so higher fees push your break-even further above your entry. For a short the price must fall below entry by a similar margin before you turn a profit.
What does the estimated liquidation price mean?
For a leveraged trade, it shows roughly where the price would wipe out your margin. A 5x long is fully lost near a 20 percent drop, and a 5x short near a 20 percent rise. This estimate ignores funding rates, maintenance margin, and slippage, so a real exchange can liquidate you earlier. It is not shown for unleveraged trades.
Is this calculator financial advice?
No. It is an educational estimate, not financial, investment, or tax advice. Crypto prices are volatile and leverage can amplify losses quickly. Figures here ignore funding rates, spread, and taxes, so confirm the exact numbers with your exchange and a qualified professional before trading.
